Mimic Philly

The Client:

An inner-city Non-Profit in Philadelphia, Mimic was a project produced in cooperation with Edgimo designs, a Philly based design and development agency overrun with Drupal work. They supplied the design and the content, we supplied the code.

The Solution:

The Mimic website was intended to function as a simple CMS. They already had a web presence for the organization, but were not happy with it's layout and had difficulty with keeping it updated.

We chose a Drupal solution for this project. The content of the site was to be maintained by the staff at Mimic and a key feature of the site was to have the most recent and important information to automatically update itself on the front page of the site. Another perfect use case for Drupal Views, in other words.

We created a few different content types for video blogs and normal site pages, spent some time integrating an intuitive newsletter signup feature with their existing Constant Contact account, and used the Nice Menus module once again to provide some smooth drop-down navigation as per the design specs.

We decided to use the Image Cache module to set up an easy banner image upload feature for the content maintainers. This also helped us to easily and automatically add images to the front page content "teasers" .
